A little Caffeinated Randomness…

• I have to apologize for the lack of postings this week – I’ve really been trying to buckle down with school work and haven’t quite found the balance I’m looking for

• Reading a book on the power of and need for intercessory prayer.  I think it was Peter Kreeft who said something like, “if we ever truly understood the power of prayer we’d never get up off our knees.”  So true!

• Which brings me to yesterday’s National Day of Prayer.  What do you think: a big crock or a valuable day for the country?

• I think if I had to buy all the amazing religious books that I’m able to borrow from the public library (of all places!) I’d be too broke to eat =)

• A very Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms out there!  May God bless you and your families abundantly!

Time For Caffeinated Randomness

It’s that time again! A little Caffeinated Randomness…

• Thanks again to everyone who commented and prayed that I would have a great retreat.  It was absolutely wonderful!  And if you missed my post on it you can check it out here

• So I’ve been putting off doing my philosophy reading (it hurts my head to think that much).  And today I took my car into the shop, expecting it to take like 20 minutes, and it ended up taking 3 hours.  And what was the only thing I had with me?  That’s right.  My philosophy book.  God definitely has a sense of humor =)

• I’m like 20 pages away from finishing “Sex & The Marriage Covenant” (this one was a slow read, and like 400 pages) and I’m excited to get to start a new book!  So many possibilities!  I really want to read something on Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross…

• I am ridiculously sore from my new workout regimen.  Let’s hope discernment is less painful!  (Read the post below this one if you’re confused).  Open to any advice or suggestions!

Friday’s Caffeinated Ritual!

It’s that time again!  A little Caffeinated Randomness…or ok a lot, I’m chatty today

• Well I’m supposed to be visiting my best-est buddy in Oxford right now, but thanks to Volcano Ridiculous Name, still here in NY.  If you haven’t seen the photos from this thing you have to check it out – incredible stuff!

• Very often when I read the OT I want to shake my head at the Israelites – it seems like they’re worshipping other gods every other chapter.  But it always makes me stop and wonder how different I am.  Sure maybe I’m not worshipping a golden calf or bowing down to Baal, but I’ve caught myself worshipping the gods of success, money and fitting-in more often than I’d want you to know!

• I’ve been trying to decide if I should buy a Macbook or stick with a Windows laptop.  The Macbook is more convenient for work, but there are so many more feature-choices with laptops – I can get exactly what I want.  Anybody want to help and throw in his/her two cents?

• I’ve been reading a bunch of books on health lately and it’s really disturbing how bad most of the food I eat is.  I never really thought about all the chemicals and hormones and antibiotics I ingest on a daily basis (and it’s not like I’m scarfing down fast food).  And yet as upsetting as it is, part of me is still resisting going organic and cutting back on meat.  I must be a few crayons short of a full box or something…

• Going on a retreat this weekend and can’t wait!  (Thanks Kathy for getting me in last minute!) Lots of time with Jesus and good friends, lots of time learning and singing!  God bless Brother Columbo and his magical guitar =)
